		<description><![CDATA[  While the saying always goes that the Golden Globes set the tone for the Oscars, this years nominations prove that while true the Academy still has a mind of it&#8217;s own. What stands out for me is the District 9 nominations. The alien drama which was not a favorite among the Hollywood Foreign Press is up for among others Best Motion Picture and Adapted Screenplay. Personally I hated the movie. It started off ok but lost it&#8217;s luster mid way through.  Buzz was that after its Golden Globe win The Hangover would be among Best Picture contenders.
