This is the new 3D movie poster for The Avengers. Pretty cool right? Hollywood is on a 3D craze, here’s to hoping The Avengers will benefit and not be hindered by the 3D. Marvel has also released another poster along with new stills from the film due to hit theaters May 4, 2012.

Ghost Rider A Spirit of Vengeance is in theaters February 17th.

Universal released the first pictures of their upcoming Snow White and the Huntsman at Comic Con this weekend. Directed by Rupert Sanders it stars Kristen Stewart as Snow White, Chris Hemsworth as The Huntsman, Charlize Theron as The Evil Queen and Sam Chiflan as the Prince.This film is set to arrive in theaters June 1, 2012.

Not to be outdone Relativity Media also released their first images of their version of the classic tale. Directed by Tarsem Singh staring Julia Roberts as the Evil Queen, Lily Collins as Snow White and Armie Hammer as the Prince. This film is due in theaters weeks late on June 29, 2012.

Leading up and during the weekend at Comic Con Marvel.com released The Avengers character posters. The Marvel/Disney super hero venture is set to hit theaters May 4, 2012. Directed by Joss Whedon, it stars Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Evans as Captain America, Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk and Chris Hemsworth as Thor. Also stars Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Jeremy Reener as Hawkeye, Cobie Smulders Maria Hill, Clark Gregg as Agent Coulston, Tom Hiddleston as Loki. Currently shooting, The Avengers is due in theaters May 4, 2012

And everyone said it wouldn’t happen. Most box office watchers thought that Harry Potter would reign supreme in it’s second week but Captain America comes to the rescue and knocks the boy wizard from the number one spot making $65 million dollars. However, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows has made almost $500 million dollars worldwide in just 2 weeks and still does really well but this weekend belong to Captain America.The Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake Friends with Benefits opens at #3, Transformers is barely holding one month into release at #4 and Horrible Bosses rounds out the top 5.

Yahoo! Movies has posted the first two movie posters from the Warner Bros.  Sherlock Holmes sequel. The first trailer from the much anticipated movie is expected to be released later this week. Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows stars Robert Downey Jr., Jude Law, Noomi Rapace, Jared Harris, Stephen Fry and will be in theaters December 16, 2011.

The Trailers

Not alot has come out about what Super 8 is really about. Last year there were all the teasers and last night debuted the first real trailer for the film from Stephen Spielberg and JJ Abrams. Still not alot of the plot was revealed but I guess one can say it’s about aliens? Come on that is one of Spielberg’s favorite subjects. Super 8 is in theaters June 10,2011.

What I was most excited about was the first trailer from Captain America. This film has been years in the making, dating all the way back to 2004 when rumors were Brad Pitt was going to star. With the big Avengers movie to start filming this spring there will be a Marvel comic take over this summer and it was about that time to gear up the Captain America trailers. What better way to debut than during the Superbowl. Captain America: The First Avenger is in theaters July 22, 2011

The Best

Chysler’s ‘Imported from Detroit’.  Chrysler was able to make an ad that brought in the American feel on one of the most American days of the year. Oh and of course any shout out to the motor city would no be complete without Eminem.

Favorite:

I loved the Bridgestone ‘Reply All’ Ad. Who hasn’t feared the dreaded reply all mess up in emails. I literally laughed out loud at the part where he grabs the phone from the guy in the woods and pulling the wires in the server room.

Runner Ups:

The Doritos’ ‘House Siting’ Ad. Who didn’t laugh at the end when he walks in and says “Grandpa?!” Hilarious.

Brisk’s Eminem Spot. It’s the claymation commercials we are used to getting from Brisk mix with that Eminem flair. That and the fact that the rapper really hasn’t done alot of commercials so it was a nice treat to get this one from him.

Chevrolet’s ‘Bumble Bee’. At first it looks like one of the hometown dealership commercials and then out pops ‘Bumble Bee.’ Despite this particular ad I was rather annoyed with all the Chevrolet ads. What was it 6 or more different spots and that is not including the long “Glee” ad that aired after the Superbowl.

Best of the Car Commercials

The Best: Volkswagen’s ‘The Force’. A kid dressed up as Darth Vader. Need I say more?

Some probably consider it the best of the night, it was definitely a contender with Chrysler’s ad.

Runner Up: Audi’s Goodnight commercial. A blatant jab at Mercedes, calling it “old luxury”. Burn. I see a new battle coming, kinda on the verge of last year’s AT&T vs. Verizon commercial war for who had the best national coverage.

Honorable Mention: Hyundai’s Anachronistic City.
