The Grammy Awards just ended and Beyonce comes out on top winning six out of ten awards making her the current record holder of most Grammys won in a single night. by a female artist. Album of the Year went to Taylor Swift who walked away with a total of four awards out of her eight nominations. Full winners list after the jump. The other big nominees Lady Gaga and Black Eyes Peas won two awards each. While I respect Taylor Swift and that she writes her own songs, Album of the Year? Where’s Kanye when you need him. Yes she has mass appeal to the country lovin, teeny boppers but I think Lady Gaga deserved it. The highlights of the show was the performances. Lady Gaga opened the show in the only way she knows how giving an electrifying performance with the legendary Elton John. Beyonce came out blazin singing her single If I Were A Boy with a mix of Alanis Morissette’s You Outta Know. Pink recycled her high flying VMA performance but it’s always impressive to sing and spin hundreds of feet in the air at the same time. The MJ tribute was good but headache inducing for those without 3d glasses and his children accepted the award on behalf of their father promising to continue to spread MJ’s message of love. BEP gave us an futuristic vibe while The Zac Brown Band opened their set with a great redition of America. The most disappointing performance of the night besides that Lil Wayne/Eminem/ Drake bleep fest, was AOY winner Taylor Swift. Even though she performed with Steve Nicks, her voice was as flat throughout. The Lil Wanye/Eminem/Drake performance was s The cutest moment of the night goes to Beyonce’s nephew when he was brought on stage with his uncle Jay-z to accept Best Sung/Rap collab. Album Of The Year“Fearless” – Taylor SwiftColbie Caillat, featured artist; Nathan Chapman & Taylor Swift, producers; Chad Carlson, Nathan Chapman & Justin Niebank, engineers/mixers; Hank Williams, mastering engineer[Big Machine Records] Record Of The Year“Use Somebody” – Kings Of LeonJacquire King & Angelo Petraglia, producers; Jacquire King, engineer/mixer[RCA Records] Song Of The Year“Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)” – Thaddis Harrell, Beyonc?
