The USO for over 50 years have been providing morale boosters and much needed breaks for troops who are away from home.

Today kicked off this years USO summer tour that includes actors D.B. Sweeney and Bradley Cooper. Joining them are former NFL players Warrick Dunn,Don Shula and sports commentator Leann Tweedan. All of the participants will spend the next seven days visiting troops overseas. This will be Cooper’s third trip with USO and Swenney’s second.

During a time of war I personally feel it’s important to support troops who risk their lives each and every day. A big thank you goes to them!

Variety says that the actor has not pulled out Universal/ Imagine’s  ” The Three Stogies” and MGM’s “Cartel” to spend more time with his family.

In an announcement that has caught two studios by surprise, Penn has pulled out of two films, citing personal reasons.

Penn has informed Universal and Imagine that he will be unable to star in the Asger Leth-directed drama “Cartel,” which was to be his next movie. His role will be recast. Studio is putting together a list of actors now and hopes to stick with an early fall start date. Variety

I think this is the best decision.  I applaud him and his wife actress Robin Wright Penn for trying to make their marriage work instead of throwing in the towel. Hopefully this will end the back and forth divorce filing. Now if only more actors had the balls to stop working when their personal life is suffering.
