Almost a year after SAG’s contract expired a tentative deal was finallyreached and sent to guild members over the weekend for approval, problem is the guild’s 100,000 plus members have to approve. The deal is facing strong opposition which you can read about over at Variety. Members have until May to approve the deal.

A badly split SAG national board approved a two-year tentative deal on its feature-primetime contract, triggering a ratification vote by the guild’s 120,000 members.

The board’s approval came Sunday, two days after SAG execs and the congloms hammered out the final details of the pact.
